Storage
We offer containerised storage with 24hr CCTV security in Dublin. While your property is in our storage facility it will be placed in secure container. Each storage customer is assigned their own storage containers. The benefits are minimal handling and good security. Where possible, Davick will pack your container from the removal vehicle for the required period of time. Here are some of the reasons people choose Davick for storage services:Moving houseIncreasingly people are having to move out of their old home before moving into their new. If that’s the case and you have nowhere to store your belongings, a storage unit is the ideal answer.DownsizingMany people our now downsizing their homes, especially if the children have flown the nest or are have gone to college. You may not be ready to get rid or sell larger items like furniture, exercise equipment etc. For young people getting on the housing ladder is very expensive and many are storing items in preparation for when their children make that jump and will need all the help they can get.Office EquipmentMoving or downsizing office space means you will need somewhere to store your equipment and files. We have 24 hour security and can help pack your items.RenovatingIf the builders are due, to erect a new conservatory or extension, and you are worried about them walking through the house and damaging your sofas or wooden furniture, a storage unit would be ideal to house your valuables whilst the work is ongoing.Baby on the wayIf you have a new addition on the way and need to completely clear the spare bedroom, you don’t have to clear the decks and put everything on ebay. Yes, replace the spare bed with a cot, but put the bed in a self storage unit, along with any furniture that you don’t need. You’re probably going to need it again is a while. You can always sell it if you change your mind.Garden furniture and machinesSummer gives way to autumn and the grass has been cut for the last time. It’s time to put away all the garden furniture and equipment, but where? The space in the shed or garage seems alot smaller than when you took it all out and the chances are you’ve bought an extra lounger, or decided to buy a bigger table. You’re not going to use any of the items for months so putting it all into a storage unit leaves you with a bit of space in the garage and also helps protect your garden furniture.Renting your homeIncreasingly people are choosing to rent their homes while they either work away or move to a smaller property. Many home owners in this position don’t want to leave all the belongings in the house. A storage unit will provide you with peace of mind whilst you are away.
Moving Stress?
Moving stress? Did you know we will pack your belongings as well as move them? We provide all the equipment and will pack as little or as much as you like!Packing yourself? Here are a few handy tips:• Begin as earlier as possible. Make sure that you use suitable moving boxes that are strong enough (double wall boxes) and large enough not to become too heavy when filled but allow you to maximise the space inside the box (less trips to the van!)• Always fill the box to the top and then close the lid, this allows the boxes to be stronger and can be stacked on top of each other in the removal van or storage unit.• When emptying drawers and cupboards you do not need to empty everything, just take very heavy, spillable and breakable items out. If the chest of drawers is too heavy to be lifted the removal team will take out the drawers and put them securely in the back in the van.• Clearly label your boxes according to room and leave the most important items to be loaded last, so you can get them out first at your new home (kettle/bottle opener :P)To talk to our moving team call us on 01 8433560 or visit our website http://www.davicktransport.com/, we will be happy to advise what’s best for you according to time, size and budget.

Reduce moving stress
We've given you some sound advice on moving house and dealing with removals plans over the last while. Today we'd like to take a more holistic approach to helping you keep stress free during you move.
Ask for Help
Sometimes it's difficult to ask for help. But remember, most people have been through at least one move in their lives and understand how hard it can be. Reach out. Ask friends and family if they can spare a couple of hours. If you're moving far away, this could be one of the last opportunities you have to spend time together.
Say Goodbye
Allow yourself the time to say goodbye. Throw a party. Invite friends out for dinner. Take an hour everyday to walk through your neighborhood. Visit one favorite spot every day. Feel the memories and allow yourself to relive them one more time. This will also help with the transition from the old to the new and give yourself some much needed time to enjoy the moment.
Moving house this summer?
Moving house can be a very stressful time. Especially during the summer. We're gonna bring you 10 helpful tips every week for the next 10 weeks to make it a little easier.Tip 1 : Packing cleaning products and toxins. Products such as detergents, pesticides and paint are heavy and unwieldy to pack. Dispose of as many as possible before the move in an eco-friendly way. For items that must be transported, pack them in a small box within a larger box for protection against leaks. Don’t overstuff boxes with these items! Consider marking these boxes in a different color, and seal them extra tight. Keep them separate from the rest of the boxes, particularly if you have kids and pets. For all your removals and storage requirements call Davick transport this summer.

Tips on Moving House and Removals
- Stay organised. Staying organised can't be emphasised enough when it comes to important moving tips for relocating. There is no amount of planning that can prepare you for unexpected issues that arise on your moving day, but you can prepare for a comfortable move by packing and organising your belongings in advance. Also, by taking an inventory of all possessions, scheduling your moving truck two weeks prior to your move and planning where your furniture will go in your new home.
- Gather packing supplies far in advance. There's nothing worse than scrambling at the last minute for boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape to pack up the last of your belongings. One of the most important moving tips to remember, is to gather new or used boxes, bubble wrap or butcher paper, packing tape, and a permanent marker 4 to 6 weeks prior to relocation.
- Label all boxes clearly. Make sure that all boxes are labelled clearly with their contents. You can take it a step further by using colour coding to organise where boxes will go in your new home.As an example, label all boxes in red for the kitchen, blue for bedrooms, and green for bathrooms. This will make it easy and efficient for movers to unload your belongings. So the quicker that your movers work, the chances are you will have to pay less in total moving expenses.
St. Patricks Day
Firstly happy Paddys Day to all of our customers, friends and family. After all thats what makes a great, be it a family event, bank holiday or a national event. We started our day at 8am, went through the check list of everyone who we invited to take part in our parade. It took a lot of organisation to get our parade off the ground. All the families arrived shortly after 11am and in the mean time the Davick team where outside dressing the lorries for the Parades, we took part in both the Lusk and Skerries St. Patricks Day Parades. We have lots of picture from the day which we'll upload tomorrow that captured the excitment. The build up to the parade was fantastic, the buzz in the yard was magic. At one stage we had people on top of the lorries helping with the dress up.Just thought I'd share the enjoyment we had with friends, family etc before the day ends.Big thanks to the lads of Ballyb0ughal.net for their support on the day.We wrapped up our day with the usual Davick Picnic outside the Village Inn in Ballyboughal, every man woman and child had a great feed and really enjoyed themselves. This post will be updated tomorrow with all the pictures of the day. Im sure, St. Particks day will continue into the early hours in the village...
